Our psychology clinics have gained an excellent reputation for providing practical psychology, counselling and psychotherapy education for students and low cost counselling for the general public.
Counselling is available for difficulties in relationships, grief and loss, separation and divorce, depression, anxiety, trauma, lack of self esteem, bullying, vocational and career planning as well as psychological assessment and intellectual ability and personality styles. Appointments are readily available.
Students in the Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology), the Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology work in the clinics. The supervised psychology and counselling and psychotherapy placements are practice-based enabling the student to make the transition from theoretical learning to applied practice in a range of clinical settings. The objective of the student clinic is to extend the student’s learning and practice skills. Students are required to participate and gain experience in client intake, administration, records and other practice management skills. All psychology students on placement are provisionally registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, and undertake supervised clinical casework in accordance with the ethical, legal and professional issues associated with practice.
